NYC Venues That Let You Host Your Party for Free

If you’re looking to throw a party with many guests but don’t want to deal with bar minimums, space rentals, or additional costs, this no-frills list is for you

These venues let you reserve their space for your large party for FREE.

  1. Evalyns’s Tap House

Located at 236 Butler St in Brooklyn, NY, this spacious restaurant/bar lets you book the venue for up to 100 guests for free. There is no minimum spend or buyout fee, which should take much of the stress of planning off your back. Guests will pay for themselves while you enjoy the night.

2. La Caverna

Located in the heart of LES at 122 Rivington Street, this is the prime neighborhood and space to host large parties. No minimum spend or buyout fee here either!

The aesthetic of this place is as if an underground cave met an NYC dance club, and it’s beyond a vibe.

3. Essex

Also located in LES is Essex Restaurant at 124 Rivington Street. With high ceilings and TONS of space, this venue can host parties between 25 and 200 people with no cost or minimum spend.

This is available after 9:30 PM, and the space you get is dependent on how large your party is.

4. The Magician

Another Lower East Side spot, located at 118 Rivington Street, allows you to rent out their back room at no cost.

This is more of a dive bar vibe, but the prices match, with a killer happy hour from 5-8 PM that offers $5 drinks. You’re also allowed to bring outside food into this establishment, further simplifying your party planning process.

5. The Folly

Located at 92 W Houston Street, this multi-level, snazzy venue is known to host events for up to 100 people for free.

It’s honestly been a while since I’ve heard that this was possible, so I’m not 100% sure if it still is. However, it doesn’t hurt to reach out!

6. Market Bar

Market Bar, located at 1207 Nostrand Avenue in Brooklyn, will allow you to host a free party for up to 50 people. They have pizza, games, and will ensure your party is everything you want it to be.

7. Solas

Located at 232 E 9th Street, Solas has two floors of dance-worthy music that will make your night an absolute blast.

I haven’t seen anything about them offering their spaces at no cost, but I have personally had three of my birthdays in their upstairs room. I’ve had parties here with between 25 and 75 people, and they’ve always been super organized and helpful, but most importantly, fun.
